# 插件 MCP 不要在 command 里写 PLUGIN_ROOT，用 cwd "."

钩子会展开 PLUGIN_ROOT，mcp.json 的 command/args 不会，字面会进启动命令。相对 cwd 相对安装后的插件根，写成 "." 再配相对 args。

钩子脚本里写 `${PLUGIN_ROOT}/hooks/session_start.py` 能跑，是因为钩子加载器会做占位符替换。同一段抄进插件 `mcp.json` / `.mcp.json` 的 `command` 或 `args`，Codex 会原样拿去 spawn：启动的是字面量 `${PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/demo-mcp`，不是缓存里的安装目录。`${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}` 同样不会在 MCP 配置里展开。

stdio 服务器用相对 `cwd`。它相对**已经安装**的插件根解析，出不了这个根：

`"."` 就是插件根；`"server"` 会落到插件根下的 `server/`。`args` 里的相对路径跟着这个 cwd，不要再假设是你开 Codex 时的仓库目录。可移植包照样要给服务器写 `type`（stdio 用 `stdio`）。HTTP MCP 不靠 cwd。

这不是用户 `[mcp_servers.docs] cwd`。那条改的是你自己装的服务器；插件自带服务器的启动命令用户改不了。

`env` 里目前只保证 `${PLUGIN_ROOT}` 和 `${PLUGIN_DATA}` 会展开。写成 `${DB_PASSWORD}` 会把字面量传给子进程。0.150 起若要转发本机环境变量：可移植 `mcp.json` 仍是源，另外在 `.codex-plugin/.mcp.json` 给**同名**服务器写 `env_vars` 列表，不要把密钥写进清单。

改完重新安装插件并新开会话。用 `codex mcp get docs` 看 cwd 是不是缓存根，命令里有没有残留的 `${PLUGIN_ROOT}`。
