# Playwright MCP 用官方 @playwright/mcp stdio，不要抄 Claude JSON

CLI：codex mcp add playwright -- npx -y @playwright/mcp@latest。包名是 @playwright/mcp，不是 executeautomation 那套。沙箱加 --headless --isolated。关掉 browser_run_code_unsafe。缺浏览器先 npx playwright install chromium。

官方给 Codex 的安装是 **stdio** 包。CLI 要把命令写在 `--` 后面，否则 `npx` 会被当成 add 的参数：

Playwright 文档里那行省略了 `--`。`codex mcp get playwright --json` 应看到 `transport.type` 是 stdio、命令是 `npx`、参数里是 `@playwright/mcp@latest`。需要 Node.js 20+。只 add 成功不会自动开浏览器；第一次调用需要浏览器的工具时才会拉起。

不要做这些：

- 不要把 Claude / Cursor 的 `mcpServers` JSON 贴进 Codex。Codex 写 `~/.codex/config.toml`。
- 不要抄 `@executeautomation/playwright-mcp-server` 或其它第三方 Playwright MCP 包名。官方包是 `@playwright/mcp`。
- 不要和 Chrome DevTools MCP、内置 Computer Use / Browser 混成一套。这台管跨浏览器 E2E 和 accessibility snapshot。
- 不要给它 `required = true` 挂在全局。用完会留下无头浏览器，见残留进程那条。
- 不要给这台 stdio 再写 `--port` 当远程。Codex 远程只要 Streamable HTTP；已经在跑的服务才用 `url = "http://127.0.0.1:8931/mcp"`，不要抄 `/sse`。
- 不要把 `--extension` 当成默认路径。那要先装 Playwright 浏览器扩展，而且只连已打开的 Edge / Chrome。

冷启动 `npx` 常超过默认 10 秒，把 `startup_timeout_sec` 提到 20。旧文里的 `startup_timeout_ms` 只是毫秒别名。沙箱或无显示环境把 `--headless`、`--isolated` 写进 `args`；默认可视窗口在 Codex 沙箱里打不开。并发客户端不要共用同一份持久 profile。

报 `"chrome" executable not found` 时，先在同一环境跑 `npx playwright install chromium`，不要默认假设系统已经装了 Chrome。这不是「桌面忽略已配置 MCP」的已确认修法。有人用 `PLAYWRIGHT_BROWSERS_PATH` 把浏览器缓存钉死；stdio 的 `env` 是字面量，要从 Codex 进程转发才写 `env_vars`。

官方工具表里有高风险的 `browser_run_code_unsafe`：在 Playwright 服务进程里跑任意脚本，等价于远程代码执行。默认关掉：

中文教程里的服务器级 `approval_mode = "prompt"` 不是 Codex 现行键。服务器用 `default_tools_approval_mode`；真要开这个工具，再给它单独写 `[mcp_servers.playwright.tools.browser_run_code_unsafe]` 的 `approval_mode = "approve"`。

Playwright 另有 `playwright-cli` + skills 路径，那是 shell 命令，不是这台 MCP。安装见 Playwright 浏览器技能那条。不要两套都 `required = true`。本机 Linux 明明有显示器，MCP 却只回 snapshot、窗口管理器里看不到 Chromium：stdio 默认不转发 `DISPLAY`，见那条。
